Dismantling
A wind turbine has a planned service life of around 20 years. After this time, the turbine must be dismantled, disposed of and the site returned to its original state. The costs of dismantling should be saved over the lifetime of the turbine in order to ensure dismantling. These conditions are usually mentioned in the building permit. In some federal states, the dismantling costs must be secured by a guarantee at the start of the project.
The wind turbine is dismantled piece by piece with the help of a crane and transported away, then the electrical infrastructure is dismantled.
